Our Story

Bravo School of Art was founded in 2009 by friends, artists and art educators Nancy Isbell and Lauren Becker Downey. With over 60 years of combined experience in the visual arts, Lauren and Nancy created a community of hands-on makers who shared an enthusiasm for hands-on creativity in fine art, decorative art and fine crafts. Bravo School of Art was originally located in the heart of Barracks 19 in the Arts District Liberty Station, until moving to South Park in the fall of 2018.

Now Lauren is Bravo’s sole Owner/Artist/Director/Instructor and teaches many of the classes currently on the calendar.

Offering a variety of unique hands-on art classes in just about every visual arts field, At any given time our experienced, qualified and friendly artists / instructors are prepared to share their expertise, skills and knowledge with you through their gentle art instruction.
